【言語の紹介】
Portuguese is the fifth most spoken language in the world, with over 300 million speakers across Brazil, Portugal, and several other countries. This course offers an opportunity for Japanese learners to gain initial contact with the Portuguese language and explore cultural elements such as music, gastronomy, and social customs of Brazil. By learning Portuguese, learners can acquire basic communicative skills and gain insights into Brazil’s cultural richness. The language also offers a historical bridge between Japan and Portugal due to their long-standing relations.

【講座の目的】
The primary goal of this course is to introduce participants to the foundational aspects of the Portuguese language. The course includes key linguistic components such as the alphabet, pronunciation, essential vocabulary, and basic verb usage. Students will engage in practical exercises to use the language in everyday situations, including shopping, dining, visiting tourist sites, and simple medical interactions. Additionally, learners will explore the origins and historical development of Portuguese, especially in the Brazilian context.

•Acquire fundamental expressions for greetings and self-introductions.
•Develop familiarity with the Portuguese alphabet, accentuation rules, and basic pronunciation patterns.
•Build essential vocabulary for common everyday situations.
•Practice forming and responding to simple questions through interactive exercises.
•Learn to use key verbs such as SER and ESTAR in practical contexts like weather, health, preferences, and personal descriptions.
•Engage in real-life communication scenarios through simulations, including restaurant visits and medical consultations, with a focus on pronunciation and spoken interaction.
•Discover notable tourist destinations in Brazil and learn useful phrases for travel-related situations.
•Gain an introductory understanding of the Portuguese language’s origins and cultural background, including its historical ties with Japan.
