【講座内容】
This is an Elementary II level course.

This course will keep India in the context and engage with important social issues and connect it with the global context. This course offers the learners to engage with the present day changing social vocabulary and keep them updated with the global debates and discussions. As the course uses India as one of the key contexts, this course will also provide the learners a wider depth about the Indian society and culture.

This course is for anyone with an interest in contemporary India, and understands basic level of English:

Students of South Asia

Business professionals collaborating with Indian and global teams

Frequent travellers who want to deepen their cultural understanding, nuances of Indian English

Enthusiasts who wish to learn social science concepts in the global context.

This course will focus largely on the contemporary India. Its triumphs and challenges. The diversity of the country and tracing its roots to the key historical junctures. Having said that, this course is also going to connect the important topics in the global context. where Indian context will make the base for understanding the concepts and issues, but global connections will be also used in the in-class examples to provide the learners with a wider global perspective.

This course will also focus on the Indian English; the language was not simply adopted from the British; it was adapted by Indians. Its unique vocabulary and sentence structures are a living mirror of Indian history, culture, and society. In this course, we will use the language itself as a key to unlock a deeper understanding of the society.

【重点を置く学習内容】
1. Analyse contemporary Indian society, its triumphs, challenges, and cultural diversity, tracing them back to key historical junctures. 2. Decode the unique vocabulary, idioms, and sentence structures of "Indian English" to better understand the region's history and social hierarchies. 3: Connect domestic Indian issues to broader global debates, providing a comparative worldwide perspective on topics.4: Build a foundational, globally relevant social science vocabulary through simplified, real-world Indian case studies. 5: Develop practical communication skills and cultural etiquette essential for travelers, students, and business professionals engaging with South Asia.
